Liga Indonesia edisi 13 boleh jadi merupakan kompetisi sepakbola profesional terlama di dunia karena berlangsung satu tahun penuh. Meski demikian, untuk ukuran dalam negeri durasi tersebut bukanlah rekor terlama.
Jika kompetisi semi-profesional dihitung, era Galatama pernah mencatat masa aktif yang sangat lama. Galatama II tercatat digelar dari Oktober 1980 sampai Maret 1982, dan itu berarti kompetisi baru rampung setelah 17 bulan.
Kompetisi Galatama XI juga menghabiskan lebih dari satu tahun. Dimulai pada November 1990, perhelatan itu baru tuntas 15 bulan kemudian alias berakhir pada Februari 1992.
